Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is an examination performed to detect and determine disease or abnormality in human body. Unlike CT scan and PETCT scan, MRI is not involved with the using of ionizing radiation. MRI use radio wave and high strength magnet in producing the image of organ inside the human body.
So far, Centre for Diagnostic Nuclear Imaging, UPM is the only institution in Malaysia that have MRI Prisma 3-Tesla machine, the latest technology of MRI. The machine that is equipped with 64 channels is very useful in producing higher quality image, thus help the radiologist to diagnose the disease or abnormality.
